This is on the Plaza de los Heroes and houses the remains of several military figures that died in Paraguay’s lunatic war against the tri-partite alliance of Brazil, Argentina, and Bolivia in the 1870 (the Chaco War). Paraguay lost most of its territiories as well as most of its male population during that war and seemed to have never fully recovered.
